There's lots going on in the field of data science at Northwestern and in the Chicago area. To help keep track of it all, here's a list of what we know about. Note that this is not comprehensive: please let us know if we can add or update anything.

We'll also make announcements about upcoming events during data science nights.

  • NUIT Research Computing Services (RCS) hosts workshops
  • NUIT organizes BYOD(ata) weekly sessions and BYOD workdays each quarter

NICO (Northwestern Institute on Complex Systems) has weekly Wednesday lunch meetings with a variety of speakers and Friday lunch discussion groups

There are also meetups in Chicago: Python User Group, R User Group, and Data Science Meetup

Safari Books Online: Northwestern University Libraries provides access to Safari Books Online.  This includes many popular books on programming, software development, and other technology topics.  It also includes online tutorials.  Students, faculty, and staff can register for an account with a Northwestern email address; access the link from the Northwestern network or VPN.
